Tracker Archive is being designed to help a pet owner keep and understand tracking history that might otherwise disappear into short-lived apps or scattered export files. The intention is to support more than one export format over time rather than tie the project to one tracker provider.

The intended application will import owner-requested data exports, preserve the original files, and turn their contents into useful maps and timelines. It is at an early local-development stage and is not yet a public service.

Real tracking and household information will remain private. These pages will explain what we are building without publishing locations, accounts, archives, or application code.

Very beta data warning

Tracker Archive is very much beta. We make no promise that beta data will survive intact. It may be deleted, mangled, scrambled, duplicated, assimilated by the Borg, fed to the pigs, or meet any number of other horrible and undignified ends. Never give it the only copy: keep the original export and at least one independent backup.

That warning does not relax our privacy or security duties. The service must still prevent one user from viewing or changing another user's data, protect credentials and private information, and fail closed whenever authorization is uncertain.
